  I'm an Instructional Designer based in Newport, Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati. I've worked in the field of Education for about 2 decades. I began my career as a Special Education Teacher and served in that role for 9 years. I learned so much about classroom management, teaching strategies, analyzing skills, reporting progress, and building relationships with learners. Following my role as a teacher, I began to work with families and children in their homes developing skill-based goals and providing support and assessment around those goals. Next, I worked as a Director at a non-profit agency where I managed a Transition program for young adults in high school. I designed curriculum, delivered instruction, assessed progress and needs in an ongoing manner, and helped to prepare them for employment after high school. I was part of a small team that developed a new Education Center and worked hard to realize the goals of the Center during the difficult time of the pandemic. My time at the Education Center led me to realize new ways of designing courses and content for learners, and I began my path into Instructional Design. I spent about 2 years as an Instructional Designer at TQL, where I built strong skills in all areas of the instructional design process. I've worked with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and abilities, and this is where I see my perspectives and skills benefitting me the most in my current role.
